Dedic&oacute; su fortuna a coleccionar modelos y recorrer kil&oacute;metros con ellos.<\/p>\n<p>Y tambi&eacute;n a modificarlos. Qui&eacute;n la iba a decir que una de esas modificaciones la llevar&iacute;an obligatoriamente todos los veh&iacute;culos del mundo un siglo despu&eacute;s.<\/p>\n<p>En&nbsp;<strong style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">1914<\/strong>&nbsp;mont&oacute; en el parachoques trasero de uno de sus coches&nbsp;<strong style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">una suerte de brazos que<\/strong>, activados mediante un bot&oacute;n,&nbsp;<strong style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">se desplegaban para indicar la direcci&oacute;n que tomar&iacute;a el coche<\/strong>. Parece simple&hellip; una vez que se le ha ocurrido a alguien.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">Tambi&eacute;n invent&oacute; un sistema que ser&iacute;a precursor de la luz de freno<\/strong>. Se trataba de una se&ntilde;al de Stop que se desplegaba al pisar el pedal del freno. Lo sorprendente fue que&nbsp;<strong style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">nunca patent&oacute; ninguno de estos inventos.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Su final quiz&aacute; suene demasiado novelesco, pero no por ello es menos cierto:&nbsp;<strong style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">falleci&oacute; arruinada&nbsp;<\/strong>con alrededor de 50 a&ntilde;os, en 1938. Tan solo&nbsp;<strong style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">un a&ntilde;o despu&eacute;s Buick comenz&oacute; a instalar indicadores estandarizados en todos sus coches.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;line-height: 25.992px\">Florence Lawrence&nbsp;<\/span><strong style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px;line-height: 25.992px\">no es la &uacute;nica mujer influyente en el mundo del autom&oacute;vil<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;line-height: 25.992px\">&nbsp;que pas&oacute; injustamente desapercibida: en 1889&nbsp;<\/span><strong style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px;line-height: 25.992px\">Genevra Delphine<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;line-height: 25.992px\">&nbsp;puso fin al automovilismo como coto exclusivo para hombres al convertirse en la&nbsp;<\/span><strong style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px;line-height: 25.992px\">primera mujer piloto<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;line-height: 25.992px\">. Tambi&eacute;n fue la primera mujer en tener un permiso de conducir en EEUU. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;line-height: 25.992px\">El siglo siguiente, en 1927,<\/span><strong style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px;line-height: 25.992px\">Cl&auml;renore Stinnes<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;line-height: 25.992px\">&nbsp;fue la&nbsp;<\/span><strong style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px;line-height: 25.992px\">primera mujer de la Historia en dar la vuelta al mundo en autom&oacute;vil<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;line-height: 25.992px\">.
