Michael Sam<\/strong>, liniero defensivo de Missouri <\/strong>y quien ha sido galardonado varias veces, reveló en una entrevista con ESPN<\/strong>, algo que, según dijo, sus compañeros y cuerpo técnico del equipo, ya sabían.<\/p>\n “Soy abierta y orgullosamente homosexual”, asestó.<\/p>\n El joven defensivo, por su gran talento, es uno de los elegibles al próximo draft de la NFL, a celebrarse en mayo. Y, de ser elegido por algún equipo, Sam se convertiría en el primer jugador en la historia de la NFL<\/strong> en declararse abiertamente gay.<\/p>\n “Entiendo la importancia de esto”, dijo en la entrevista. “Nadie había hecho esto antes. Y claro, es un proceso lleno de nervios, pero yo sé lo que quiero ser… Quiero jugar futbol (americano) en la NFL”, comentó.<\/p>\n La decisión del juvenil podría marcar la historia del deporte profesional en Estados Unidos<\/strong>. Y precisamente, el liniero de Missouri supo lo que tenía que hacer, después de ciertas experiencias que vivió durante el Senior Bowl<\/strong>, hace apenas unas semanas. Según dijo, muchos de los jugadores que asistieron al evento, parecían ya saber sobre su orientación sexual.<\/p>\n Sam es consciente de que su vida cambiará para siempre. Aunque, no por eso, se siente menos orgulloso por finalmente haber hablado sobre sus preferencias sexuales<\/p>\n “Ya no tengo miedo de decirle al mundo quién soy. Me llamo Michael Sam. Estoy por graduarme de la universidad. Soy afroamericano y también homosexual.
